Our Beliefs

What we believe at Faith Community Chapel

The Bible

Both the Old and New Testaments are the written Word of God and completely inerrant in the original manuscripts. The Bible infallibly teaches the way of salvation, and is the final authority for all we believe and do.

God

There is only one God who created and preserves all that is. God exists eternally in three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all equal and infinitely powerful, wise, loving and holy.

Jesus Christ

God the Son took on humanity, was born of a virgin and lived a perfectly sinless life. He was crucified, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and ascended into Heaven, where He intercedes on our behalf before the Father. He will one day return to this earth to judge sin and reign forever as the uncontested Sovereign of all things.

Sin

Because our first parents chose to disobey God, every person is born in a state of rebellion against God and commits acts of sin from earliest childhood. Sin brings suffering and death, and ultimately eternal separation from God.

Salvation

Jesus Christ paid the full penalty of sin when He died on the cross. By Christ’s death and resurrection, God now freely offers salvation to every person who lives, on the condition of repentance and faith in God. Salvation results in fellowship with God both in this life and eternally.

Sanctification

God desires that every believer be holy in both heart and life, and the Spirit’s presence enables every Christian to live a life of joyful obedience to God. By the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the believer’s heart may be purified from inborn self-centeredness. While human frailties and failures will always be part of life in this world, purity of heart does enable the believer to love and serve God without reservation.
